Shawna- Today's Brilliant Inspiration

You know that thing that happens through the internet and social media- where you meet people and get to be friends? Well, its happened for me and a woman named Shawna Doering.

She is an incredibly talented textile artist living in Denver Colorado- and she works at Fancy Tiger!

I just got off of an hour long skype date with her, and she is the inspiration for today. We got to speak about how geography affects your natural dye work, how making by hand is going to save the world, traveling to far off places to learn and be inspired, and also just life stuff- how to be an artist and pay your bills.

Brutally Beautiful

I have a darling friend that does the most beautiful photo scenes. 
The way she sets up her photographs is mind blowing. 

She now makes jewellery with her photos... and I am the proud new owner of one of these gems!!

Blankets

I came from fiber artists.

My Oma was a knitter, crocheter, tatter, and seamstress.

My mother is a seamstress and quilter.

They have both made me MANY blankets.

In turn, this summer I need to get working.

I have four sets of people getting married this summer, and I want to make blankets for all of them.

Passing on a loving tradition.

A coat rack that makes my heart happy

There is a wood worker in Vancouver (where I live) that makes the most AMAZING coat racks. And other things too.
