Wool Wax Silk and Bones.
I often go into dark woods, and go far to see brilliant things. I am surrounded by wonderful people, and am lucky to have found a familiar in an old black cat.
I taught a class on solar dyeing today.
It was at Baaad Anna's this afternoon!
It was a super group of people, and I am so excited to see what comes of the course today!
The jars will be put in their windows for a few months (as we don't get too much sun this time of the year!)
We used Alum and Cream of Tartar as mordant and modifiers, and cochineal, logwood extract, henna powder, onion skins, and blackbean water as dyestuff.
Have you ever tried dying with tea?
ReplyDeleteI am considering trying it for a project at work and am curious what your experience is.
Oh yes!
DeleteIt is fantastic! I just get bulk loose black tea!
(And it smells WONDERFUL!)

DeleteI work for a tea company, and was considering using a Rooibos.
